For a third year running, Making The Cut live hair show and competition is coming to Southern California. Created and produced by Scott Fontana, stylist and owner of Cristophe Salon Newport Beach, this edgy, sexy, wild show gives stylists the opportunity to compete live onstage for the chance to win the title of Southern California’s Top Stylist 2015, as well as $2,500 cash and other prizes.
Touting title sponsors L’Oréal Professionnel® and Kérastase, and held during L.A. Fashion Week at The Avalon Hollywood, Making The Cut is the beauty industry’s only live hair competition of its kind. Five finalists will compete live on-stage to showcase their talents in front of a live audience, industry professionals, and beauty industry elite judging panel including E! News correspondent Marc Malkin, celebrity stylist Frank Galasso, and actress Shanna Moakler.
Building on the success of the show over the past two years, this year’s high-end, professionally produced event and competition will include red carpet photos, an opening performance by Scott Fontana, a stage production featuring live cutting and styling from Making the Cut’s five finalists, and a hair and fashion show. During the stage production, against a backdrop of lights and music, stylists will have 30 minutes to create their best look live in front of the audience. Once the clock winds down, the finalists will present their models’ looks to the renowned judging panel.
The evening will close with the final hair and fashion show, featuring each stylists’ collection comprised of four models. The judges will make their final remarks, then award one stylist with the esteemed title of Southern California’s Top Stylist 2015. Making the Cut’s winner will take home the title, $2,500 cash and other prizes.
