Must-Know Trends

Twitter Shops Test

Twitter is joining the world of commerce offerings with the launch of its new Twitter Shops. You might remember the November announcement of Twitter’s collaboration with Walmart for a shoppable livestream hosted by Jason Derulo. Now, the platform is offering more ways for merchants to showcase their brands. This feature will allow for more products to be showcased while bringing Twitter Shops to a larger group of people. Social commerce continues to expand, and the pandemic played a large role in the quick advancements. With people shopping from home, social platforms began launching ways to meet their needs. Instagram, Facebook, Snapchat and Pinterest have all made headlines for new shoppable features, and Twitter is following suit.

Acura Virtual Showroom

Buckle up, because Acura has officially joined the metaverse. The auto company announced that it will create a limited number of NFTs (non-fungible tokens) as the 2023 Integra model is introduced. Also, Acura is set to open a digital showroom in the metaverse, making it the first automaker to drive into this space. So, how do you get your hands on this limited Acura NFT? The first 500 customers to reserve their vehicle will receive the Integra NFT, featuring exclusively-designed art by 3D artist Andreas Wannerstedt. As for the showroom, the company is reaching a younger audience that prefers to buy online rather than visit a dealership. Think Carvana and Vroom but with a more immersive experience into cars’ features.

Tom Brady is Back in the Game

Tom Brady took to Twitter to announce that his “place is still on the field and not in the stands.” Fans may have never been fully convinced when he announced his retirement after the 2021 season with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Only 40 days after his retirement announcement, Brady says he is ready to play again. Brady has won seven Super Bowls, and we’re left wondering if maybe he wants just one more. His social media announcement also included hints that he’d remain in Tampa Bay, saying he had “unfinished business” there.

Instagram Moderator and New Tags

Another week, another round of exciting Instagram updates. The social platform is moving quickly with new features and updates that seem to be crowd pleasers. First, Instagram launched the ability for livestreamers to appoint moderators during their streams. These moderators will have the power to report comments, remove viewers and turn off comments for a certain viewer. If you’re the creator of a livestream, all you have to do is tap the three dots in the comment bar and select a moderator from a list of suggested accounts. Or, you can use the search bar. We’re loving this way to keep streams free of internet trolls or those who try to turn a positive feed into something negative and unwanted. In other Instagram news, new tagging options are now available to credit creators. In a platform where creators are inspiring and innovating, it’s time to give proper credit. These enhanced tags make it easier than ever for creators to receive credit for their work. These new tagging options will allow for more opportunities and empowerment to underrepresented creators. Essentially, these tags will display the roles of collaborators, including photographers, artists, writers and more. Much work goes into content, and now it’s time we all see the names behind the talent. The topics are buzzing, from the new Twitter Shops and Acura’s digital showroom to Tom Brady’s ‘unretirement’ and Instagram updates. We hope you’re ready and equipped with the hottest topics to conquer the week ahead. Don’t forget to wear your green on Thursday, and we’ll see you back here next Monday for more March trends.
