John Maxwell once said, "The pessimist complains about the wind. The optimist expects it to change. The leader adjusts the sails."
So now, in these times where things have changed so much in only a matter of weeks, how are we adjusting? At Bolt PR, we’re standing strong and fighting harder than ever. This is a difficult time for everyone with a rippling effect, especially on small businesses. We’re personally feeling it and know our clients and communities are as well. Bolt was founded in 2007 and continued to grow, despite facing the Great Recession in our infancy. Now over a decade since then, we will survive again.PR is not going away and, in many ways, it’s more important than ever. Journalists still have stories to tell. We’re hearing directly from our media friends they still have stories to write; some directly related to COVID-19 and some not at all. And digital marketing has never been more relevant as people are turning online for nearly everything, from ordering groceries, to seeking connections in virtual classes and meet-ups, to finding new entertainment, to scrolling social media for the latest news and updates from friends and media sources alike. There are also countless ways for all of us to do good in our communities. We have clients stitching together medical masks for healthcare workers; clients raising money for the hospitality service industry who are finding themselves without reliable income; clients giving back to those who serve, including our first responders; and clients who provide cutting-edge tele-health and digital technologies that further the efforts of our healthcare professionals and will help flatten the curve. So, to our amazing client partners, we are here to support you. We will continue to talk through plans, strategies and priorities on our calls. We remain committed to you, your business, and finding a way to continue building on the momentum we’ve created together before this pandemic, and seeing you through these hard times. We’re committed to brainstorming with you to identify opportunities to sustain and even grow your business and, when possible, give back to our communities. We’re committed to helping you find resources during these challenging times and sharing updates and insights as we have them, whether it’s the latest updates on the Paycheck Protection Program or other learnings from across our client base. We are committed to making our content relevant and important, and to being proactive, creative and innovative on your behalf. Together, our partnerships make us resilient and we will make it through this. We have to. There’s too much good we still have to do and too much impact we still have to make, together. And, even though we talk daily, a note to my Bolt PR team: I see each one of you working so hard. I see each one of you living out our Bolt values of being great human beings, caring, being resourceful, focusing on what matters, and I sure hope you’re having fun and dreaming big. There’s a lot around us that can be negative and make us worry, but that’s not what we do. We get after it. Thank you for your commitment to our agency, our team and our client partners!
