Trends You Should Know
- If you’re out of office this week and need to catch up on some must-watch shows, Thrillist shared its list of the best television shows to watch from 2020. The list includes 34 shows on various streaming services that had a new season or original season air this year and ranks them by how good they were. They also, thankfully, mention how many episodes are in each season, so you won’t be shocked when you’re 13 episodes deep and only a quarter of the way through. Topping the list are “I May Destroy You,” “Better Call Saul,” and “The Mandalorian.”
- To wrap up the year, Ad Age released its list of the most memorable memes from 2020 and we’re feeling a bit nostalgic. Including memes from “Tiger King” (remember when that first came out in March?!) and the Ocean Spray/Fleetwood Mac mash-up that made all of us want to go out and purchase a skateboard, the list shares all the viral memes that made us laugh and forget about things for just a bit this year.
- Even before the stroke of midnight, brands are already forecasting what will be the hot trends for the New Year. WGSN has predicted some key consumer trends brands and companies need to keep in mind, with plant-based innovation, comfort food and functional ingredients topping the list for the food and beverage sector. Some key trends that caught our eye: canned everything, including wine and cocktails, “brain food” that includes L-Theanine, which has mental clarity benefits, and food and beverage that promote a good night’s sleep!
- With New Year’s Eve this Thursday, adults across the world may be thinking through what resolutions to make for 2021. Although a whopping 50% of Americans estimated to make them this year, it’s projected that only less than 10% will actually keep them for more than a few months. Whether you’re planning on exercising more or relying on Door Dash a bit less every week, there are tons of tips out there to make sure you stay accountable including setting small, manageable goals to writing them down and showcasing them in a public spot, so you can’t forget them.
We hope you all have an amazing New Year’s Eve and we can’t to see what 2021 has in store!
